UNDERWEIGHT
Underweight refers to a situation in which a portfolio does not have a sufficient amount of a particular security when it is compared with the security’s weight in the underlying benchmark portfolio. Its other meaning pertains to an analyst’s opinion in terms of the future performance of a security, which is expected to underperform in its industry, sector, or market.
