Universal Banking is a banking system that offers a wide range of financial services for both commercial and investment banking. European countries are the major users of this system while banks in the United states are obligated to separate the commercial and investment banking services. Some investors think that universal banking aids the bank in diversifying risks while others think that the division in bank operations lowers the risk in their strategy.
