UNREALIZED GAIN
Unrealized gain is profit from all types of investment that is currently in record or in paper. It means that the value of an investor’s security is higher now than it was at the time of purchase. An unrealized gain is basically a winning stock that is still open or uncashed. An unrealized gain will be realized once it is closed or cashed in. It is also called ‘paper profit’.
