ABSENTEE LANDLORD
An entity or individual that leases or rents real estate to another entity, but is not residing within the premises. An absentee landlord may refer to anyone from an overseas conglomerate to even a local investor. Generating rental income from their holdings is the main objective of the landlords regardless of the operation size. Management companies are usually hired by absentee landlords to maintain the properties and conduct the collection of rental payments.
