ATTORNEY IN FACT
An individual who is authorized to carry out business-related transaction on the stead of someone else (the principal). To become an attorney in fact of someone, an individual must make the principal sign a power of attorney document. The document entitles the individual as an agent, permitting him/her to conduct actions on the behalf of the principal.
