BASEL III
An absolute set of standards created to develop the rules, supervision and risk management inside the banking sector. In late 2009, the first version of Basel III was established by The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, giving banks almost three years to meet all requirements. Banks are required to sustain the right leverage ratios and meet certain capital requirements even if there is a credit crisis.
