BUDGET CONTROL ACT - BCA
Federal statute, signed into law by US President Barack Obama, which was enacted in response to the Debt Ceiling Crisis in 2011. The Act seeks to increase the debt ceiling to avoid the risk of sovereign default, as well as to reduce the deficit by at least $2.1 trillion within a 10-year period, from fiscal year 2012 to fiscal year 2021.
