Indicator which gives details on the monthly sales volumes from chain stores. It corresponds to around 10% of retail sales, which is viewed as a good indicator of consumer spending and retail sales. Released every first Thursday of the month, these are reported as a change, expressed as a percentage, from the similar month a year before.
