ELECTRONIC BENEFIT TRANSFER - EBT
System permitting state governments to distribute and monitor benefits to recipients through a plastic debit card. Common benefits given include cash benefits such as refugee benefits, State General Assistance, and Temporary Aid for Needy Families (TANF) benefits; as well as food stamps. Beneficiaries can claim it using the Common Benefit Identification Card (CBIC) and Personal Identification Number (PIN).
