Instead of receiving federal payments by check for DOL/Black Lung, OPM retirement, Railroad Retirement Board, Social Security, SSI, VA benefits, and civilian or military salary / wages, this account allows the recipient to get his payment through direct deposit, which is considered to be faster, more convenient, and more secure than receiving check payment.
