EQUITY COMMITMENT NOTE - ECN
Mandatory convertible bond, issued by a bank or other lending institution, eligible as regulated capital. It is redeemable once issuing or selling securities is done at the fixed maturity date by the issuing financial institution. In the United States, the Federal Reserve sets the 12-year maximum maturity and mandates the issuing firm ⅓ of the equity every four years.
