EQUITY-EFFICIENCY TRADEOFF
Economic situation in which there is said to be a tradeoff between the equity and the efficiency of a particular economy. This is commonly viewed within the concept of the production possibility frontier in which any further gains in the production efficiency must be countered by reducing the economy’s equity.
