EXCHANGE RATE MECHANISM - ERM
Process, anchored on the concept of the fixed currency exchange rate margins, in which member countries of an economic community maintain an exchange rate parity among their currencies. Currencies can fluctuate with respect to one another within a defined limit. Also commonly called semi-pegged currency system.
