FAT MAN STRATEGY
A defense tactic against takeover. Using this tactic, a target company captures a business or assets. The strategy supposes that the bulked-up company - the "fat man" - would have become less appealing to a hostile bidder, especially if the acquisition increases the acquirer's debt load or decreases available cash.
