GOVERNMENT BROKER
Senior British stockbroker working for the UK government. The broker is authorized to trade government securities on the London Stock Exchange. The individual operates based on instructions from the Bank of England (BOE), and also acts as broker to the National Debt Commissioners. But in 1986, gilt-edged market makers had hugely replaced government brokers.
