GREEN FIELD INVESTMENT
Foreign direct investment in which a parent firm begins a new venture in another foreign country, normally developing nations. That company will build new operational facilities from the ground up. Aside from new facilities, they will also make new long-term jobs in the foreign country by taking in new employees. Opposite of brown field investment.
