GREENWASHING
Company, government, or other group’s act of deceiving consumers and possible customers into believing the product or service is environmentally friendly. Realistically speaking, these entities operate in such a way it damages the environment or contrast to the goals of the announced initiatives. It can also refer to misleading customers on environmental benefits through false advertisement and unsubstantiated claims.
