INCURRED BUT NOT REPORTED
Type of account often used in the insurance industry which refers to reserves created for claims and/or events that occurred but not reported to an insurance company. In such instances, an actuary will estimate the possible damages to a region. The insurance can then decide to set up reserves to allocate money for anticipated losses. Such events and losses are considered incurred but not reported.
