INDEMNIFICATION METHOD
Method for computing termination payments once a swap prematurely ends. It requires the responsible counterparty to compensate the nonresponsible counterparty for all the damages and losses caused by early termination. The technique was common when swaps were first improved, but considered ineffective for it did not quantify, or demonstrate how to qualify, the damages and losses from a prematurely ended swap.
