JOBLESS CLAIMS
Number of individuals who have filed or are filing to claim unemployment insurance benefits, which is reported weekly by the US Department of Labor. The data has two classifications: initial and continuing. Initial claims comprises of unemployed individuals who are filing for the first time while continuing benefits refer to people who have been receiving unemployment benefits for a while. Jobless claims are a significant indicator on the employment situation and the economic condition.
