JOINT STOCK COMPANY
A company that falls between the definitions of a partnership and corporation. Stockholders under this type of company have the same privileges and duties as an unlimited partnership but liable for company debts. It also permits for secondary market trading and can access liquidity and financial reserves of the stock market. However, joint stock company has the restrictions of a partnership.
