JOINT-LIFE PAYOUT
One of the two options usually available for retirees to select as the manner of payout for their employee’s retirement benefits. This option permits the retiree to receive benefits during the remainder of his/her life and ensures income for another person, normally his/her spouse or partner. The default payout option is the single-life option unless the retiree’s statements clearly expresses the joint-life payout.
