LINKAGE
Capacity to purchase a security on an exchange and then sell the same contract on another. Some depositary receipts like American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) allow linkage, meaning the trader can buy shares of a firm on a foreign exchange such as Tokyo Stock Exchange, and later on sell the same shares on a domestic exchange like New York Stock Exchange.
