MARKET MAVEN
A slang term that regards to a market participant who is "in-the-know" on market news and a successful investor. He is also an individual with broad knowledge and connections, thus having a reliable opinion about market events and/or speculations. Although experiencing some losses at times, it pertains to a person who become very wealthy because of picking the right investments most of the time. Warren Buffett is considered a market maven. Usually, historical success in the market is regarded as the main driving force behind distinguishing market mavens.
