MARKETS IN FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS DIRECTIVE - MIFID
A directive created by European Union, which took effect on 1 November 2007, that aims to integrate its financial markets and increase the volume of cross border investment orders. It implements new measures such as pre-trade and post-trade transparency and capital requirements every company must have. Also, it authorizes member states to regulate their own firms and requires them to offer best trade execution for its clients.
