MINIMUM ESSENTIAL COVERAGE

A health insurance policy a person needs to comply health coverage requirements stated in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), U.S. health reform that was enacted on March 23, 2010. Individuals who fail to maintain minimum basic coverage may need to pay the penalty in 2014 and equal to 1% of their annual household income, or $95 per person ($47.50 for children). This rate raises every year.
