SOMALILAND SHILLING
SOS is the abbreviation for the currency in the Republic of Somaliland that is the Somaliland shilling. For every Somaliland shilling, there are technically 100 cents, however coined cents has never been issued in the country. The currency is, more often than not, represented with a ‘Sl. Sh.’ sign. It replaced the former Somali shilling represented with the ‘So. Sh.’ sign. The Republic of Somaliland is an independent de facto republic in the northeast of Africa.
