SPURIOUS CORRELATION
Spurious correlation is the erroneous presumption of correlativity between two variables. This correlation is, more often than not, influenced by a third factor that is not readily identified at the initial time of analyzation. The name comes from the latin word ‘spurious’ which denoted falsity, and illegitimacy.
