STATUTORY RESERVES
Statutory Reserves are reserve requirements regulated by the state. A portion of the assets must be held by insurance companies as either marketable investments or cash in order for the firms to keep solvent and achieve partial protection versus investment loss. This reduces the risk of insurance.
