STOCK LOAN FEE
Fee placed by a brokerage firm to a client for borrowing shares, pursuant to a Securities Lending Agreement completed before a client borrowers the stock. The amount varies depending on the difficulty of obtaining a stock. The borrower must also set up collateral in order to borrow a stock. Acceptable collateral includes cash, letter of credit from an American bank, or Treasuries. Also called borrow fee.
