SURVIVORSHIP BIAS
Likelihood mutual funds exhibiting poor performance will be removed by mutual fund companies due to poor results or low asset accumulation. Spreading widely in the mutual fund industry, this phenomenon leads to overvaluation of the previous returns of these funds. Also called survivor bias.
