SYNTHETIC LETTER OF CREDIT
Letter of credit pre-funded by the agent or lead bank on the closing date. Its funds are held in a credit-linked deposit account until needed. Should the borrower fail to pay back the funds, the agent bank passes any costs incurred to other participants.
