TICKER SYMBOL
Character arrangement, normally letters, identifying every security listed on an exchange or otherwise traded publicly. When a firm begins to issue stocks to the marketplace, it chooses an available ticker symbol for its securities to be used by investors in entering trade orders. Each security has its distinct ticker symbol for facilitating trade orders in the financial markets daily.
