VOLATILITY
(1) Volatility is a statistical measure of the dispersion of returns for a particular security or market index. Basically, it is the amount of risk in the size of changes in a security’s value.
(2) Volatility, expressed as a percentage coefficient, is a variable in option pricing formulas, which shows the extent to which the return of the underlying asset will shift between the current moment and the option’s expiration.
