ABSORPTION COSTING
A cost method in managerial accounting which expenses all of the costs associated on a particular product’s manufacturing. Absorption costing employs the overhead costs and direct costs associated with a product's manufacturing process as the cost base. GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles ) requires absorption costing for the external reporting.
