BUBBLE THEORY
Belief the prices of assets occasionally rise way above their true values and these bubbles are easily identifiable. The theory states huge overvaluations of assets can exist for several years but will eventually burst, resulting to rapid price declines. Former Federal Reserve Chair Alan Greenspan coined the phrase irrational exuberance, describing asset bubbles.
