IMMEDIATE CREDIT
Federal Reserve’s practice of clearing checks when member banks deposit those checks on the same day the checks were deposited. The service is available right away when Fed has a branch in the similar city as the bank wishing to process that check. Usually, checks will be put to deferred availability, meaning the deposited check will be available within two working days.
