JOHN W. CONWAY
President, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Crown Holdings, a Philadelphia-based firm that creates metal packaging including soft drink cans, candy tins, and aerosol containers for beauty products and industrial products. When he joined the company as CEO in 2001, Crown Holdings had a huge market share but a recession affected the business. He helped the company recover by cutting down costs including shutting several of the firm’s manufactories. He also supervised its expansion in Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Middle East, as well as the sale of its cosmetics packaging business and worldwide plastic closures business.
