LIABILITY MANAGEMENT
The process of balancing outstanding liabilities like deposits, CDs, and the like, which is done by a financial institution in order to facilitate lending. Liability management includes managing money that came from depositors as well as funds obtained from other institutions. Also, it encompasses hedging against interest rates changes and regulating the gap between the maturities of assets and liabilities.
