MSCI EMERGING MARKETS INDEX
A gauge formed by Morgan Stanley Capital International in order to measure emerging global markets equity performance. Emerging markets are influenced by economies, politics, and currency fluctuations, and may be included in the general investment portfolio to diversify risk; although on their own are considered extremely risky with the possibility for either huge profits or huge losses. It is comprised of indexes from 21 emerging economies.
