STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESS
Act of discharging or forgiving federally-backed student loans including Direct, Perkins, and Stafford loans. To avail of student loan forgiveness, the borrower must point out circumstances beyond his control, which prohibits him from repaying the loan. Its prerequisites vary from one loan or another, but this is often employed in some public-service occupations.
